I graduated Cum Laude from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2004, followed by a Masters of Science Degree in Accounting & Taxation from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2005. In 2007, I finished all the requirements for becoming a Certified Public Accountant, received my license and started my own company.
In 2009, I started attending Ave Maria School of Law and in 2010, I started working as a legal intern at a boutique tax law firm in Naples. In 2012, I graduated with a Juris Doctor degree and passed the Florida Bar Exam and promptly started working as an associate Attorney for the same tax law firm.
In the Fall of 2013, I decided to bring my knowledge and skills to bear on problems that more closely resemble my area of interest and decided to branch out with my own law firm.

My name is Sebastian Nye-Schmitz. I was born in Germany and moved to the United States almost 20 years ago. I am a Certified Public Accountant and Attorney at Law, licensed in the State of Florida.
When I was working in tax compliance, as a CPA, I focused on the application of the Double Tax Treaty with German Speaking Countries. Since transitioning to controversy, I have dramatically increased my areas of practice to include all levels of tax controversy, including CPA support and independent representation of clients during audits, appeals, US Tax Court cases, refund litigation, and establishing of collection alternatives.
